We will endeavour to cause as little impact as we can on a busy time of the school year. The Drama Club would compliment students studying GCSEs in Drama and we would be more than happy to assist with any audition speeches/readings students need to work on.Īt the start of the third term we would like to begin rehearsals for a small scale production, the structure of which will largely depend on the group we have at that time. We will be looking at scripts, voice work, exploring character motivation and development, and there will be an opportunity to learn stage combat. The workshops will explore the use of physical theatre, improvisation and mime to tell our stories in a more creative way. We will look at drama games that develop their confidence, the notion of team work and mutual respect.Īs workshop leaders we work the group extremely hard, asking high standards of both performance and commitment within the sessions. Students will be challenged to push themselves to their full potential. The aim is to develop the groups acting skills in a fun, safe environment. Whilst we encourage our young Drama Club members to work hard to reach their potential we recognise that the sessions should always be about having fun.ĭuring the first term we will spend a lot of time playing drama games, developing confidence and getting to know each other. In my mind, the best theatre is always created by the commitment and imagination of an ensemble of actors.

It's a free ticket to explore all the wickedness, kindness, strangeness and wonderfulness of human beings. Workshop leaders have Enhanced DBS Disclosure checks and public liability insurance. The Drama Club is run by industry professionals with an extensive knowledge of theatre performance, and theatre for young people. Young people from Stratford-upon-Avon, the surrounding towns and villages come and join in the weekly drama workshops which are delivered in a fun, safe and stimulating environment.Įach week students will engage in a range of activities including: Theatre Games, Stage Craft, Mime, Physical Theatre, Script Work, Stage Combat, Voice and Improvisation.
